The transhumance in Reith im Alpbachtal is THE HIGHLIGHT of the year!

HIGHLIGHT OF THE YEAR in Reith im Alpbachtal. There's no doubt - Reith im Alpbachtal knows how to celebrate the homecoming of their livestock and local farmers. Entertainment, food and drink are catered for! Music and atmosphere can be heard and felt throughout the village. Wood carvers, basket weavers, Schnapps distillers, glass engravers and others demonstrate their handicraft. Home cured bacon farmers bread and butter... and of course a small glass of home distilled "Obstler" - not to be missed!

In the afternoon between 12:00 and 3:00 p.m. the decorated cattle proceed through the village on their way home to their farms.
