St. Gertraudi Carnival Parade

Verkleidungen Fasching | © FFW St Gertraudi

Sankt Gertraudi (municipality of Reith i. A.) may be small with just under 250 inhabitants, but when it comes to celebrating carnival, the village can compete with larger towns. Unlike in larger towns St.Gertraudi has never taken a break when it comes to carnival. On carnival Saturday, the traditional carnival parade will start with many colourful floats and groups as well as entertaining performances. Afterwards, the popular carnival party for young and old will take place at the fire station. The youngest carnival fools will be treated to free lemonade and doughnuts at the children's carnival. Expect lots of fun games, dancing and entertainment. For adults, there will be an open-end carnival party with (hopefully) fun performances.

Last year, everyone's darling musician Hansi Hinterseer celebrated his 70th birthday. On Saturday, 1st March, the Gairer Faschingsgilde invites everybody to participate in the longest ‘Hansi Hinterseer Polonaise’ at the carnival parade, which starts at 2:00 p.m. in St. Gertraudi. All fans who turn up dressed as Hansi Hinterseer will receive a free drink, the most original Hansi double will also receive a non-cash prize. Don't forget your fur boots, Norwegian jumper and to style your beautiful blonde hair.
