Tour of the Alps 2023 - Rattenberg

The "Tour of the Alps" goes into the next round this year and comes live from the Alpbachtal! On April 17th 2023, approx. 150 cyclists from top teams will compete in Rattenberg, Austria's smallest town. From Rattenberg, the 5 five-day ride takes them over 14,790 m altitude gain/loss and 752,6 km through the Tyrol, South Tyrol and Trentino. 

On this day, the Austria's smallest town turns into an area full of sports fans who enthusiastically cheer on their favorite teams and provide for a unique atmosphere at the starting area.

Programme Rattenberg | start:

At 10:30 a.m. the Stadtmusikkapelle Rattenberg will parade into town entertaining spectators and provide a fitting prelude for the Tour of the Alps 2023. Try your smoothie making skills on the "Smoothie Bike" (blender bike). Pupils from the Rattenberg music school will perform, singing and dancing at a performance at 11:30 am. The official start of the Tour of the Alps is at 12:00 p.m. in Austria's smallest town and we are looking forward to many spectators cheering on the cyclists!

Programme Alpbach | finish:
After about 127 km, the professional riders arrive in the Alpbach, Austria's Most Beautiful Village. After negotiating the last metres of altitude into the village centre, the athletes will cross the finish line in front of the Congress Centrum Alpbach at approx. 3:00 p.m. The village will already be preparing to cheer them on with the band parading through the village at 2:00 p.m. The Alpbach farmers' women prepare traditional farmer's pizza on the Congress Centre terrace, a welcome treat for all to enjoy! At the photo station in dreamlike setting you can also take part in a competition

This year, the Alpbachtal is the only Tyrolean region to host the event. The second stage of the Tour of the Alps 2023 starts in Reith im Alpbachtal and leads the professional cyclists through the whole of Tyrol to Ritten in South Tyrol. At 9:30 a.m. the Blasmusikkapelle Reith im Alpbachtal will parade to the start area in the village centre and entertain spectators creating the mood for an exciting race day. A BORA Hansgrohe team truck will be presenting show cooking of delicious Tyrolean delicacies from 9:00 a.m.
