At 1000 m above sea level time seems to have stood still in the mountain village of Alpbach. Some say it was love at first sight. The beautiful farmhouses, all built in the traditional wooden building style are bound to make hearts melt. The village (without through traffic) was awarded the title „Austria’s Most Beautiful Village“ and „ Europe´s most beautiful flower village"!
The Wiedersbergerhorn & Reither Kogel are ideal peaks for families. Both peaks can be accessed with the Wiedersbergerhorn and Reitherkogelbahn gondolas respectively bringing hikers within easy reach of the peaks. The outdoor play area Lauserland on the Wiedersbergerhorn and Juppi Zauberwald on the Reitherkogel are great places to play in. Of course the hiking area offers many other great walks.
Besides the cold mountain lakes the Tyrol also has some lovely warm bathing lakes and Lake Reintal and Krumm in Kramsach are two popular lakes for swimmers and water lovers. The lake in Reith im Alpbachtal is situated at the heart of Reith village centre. The idyllic Lake Berglstein is nestled in a romantic secluded forest clearing.
Bon appétit! The Alpbachtal Seenland has a wide variety of culinary specialities waiting to be tried and savoured. To mention a few of our absolute highlights the Alpbachtaler Heumilchkäse, Jos Moser’s 1-man-brewery "Mein Bier" in Alpbach and the traditional Brandenberger Prügeltorte
