From 22nd - 30th September 2018 thousands of spectators are expected to line the road world championship race routes in the Tyrol.
TV live coverage broadcast will reach an audience of 250 mi. in 130 countries. An estimated 500.000 spectators are expected to come to the Tyrol to witness the races live. The UCI Road World Championship 2018 is pedicted to become one of the most difficult cycling championships of all times. The professional riders need to overcome 5.000 metres of altitude difference and challenging distances in the Tyrol
The routes of the in total 12 races lead through the Alpbachtal Seenland, Ötztal, Hall-Wattens and Kufstein regions before finishing in the heart of the regional capital, Innsbruck.
The Gran Fondo Team is a group of highly motivated Tyrolean cyclists, who can be considered UCI Road Racing World Championship ambassadors who spread their joy and enthusiasm for road racing within the country and abroad.
The official decision to host the September 2018 Road Racing World Championships got out of the starting blocks at the press conference held on 03.03.2017 at the Landhaus in Innsbruck.
