The former Augustinian and later from 1384 to 1971 Servite order monastery is home to this unique museum.
The collections show Tyrolean jewels of art from nine centuries. Amongst these objects are choice masterpieces from the Romantic and Gothic period as well as numerous testimonials of religious folk art.
The historical cultural objects from the region and a collection of rare Gothic sculptures are definitely well worth a visit.
The Augustinian Museum was awarded the Tyrolean Museum prize and received the Austrian Museum prize.
