This column is a stone carving dating from the beginning of the 16th century. In two niches there is a so-called "patriarchal cross".
These types of crosses indicated that a "Holy Spirit Hospital" ron by Augustinian friars was closeby - as was the case in Rattenberg. Travellers at that time could already tell from the column in front of the town that they could seek medical care at the "Heilig Geist Spital" with a church and an Augustinian order.

In 1767, the Rattenberg brewer Nikolaus Artzpeck had the columns image renovated and his initials N: A.P. and the year 1767 engraved into it.

In the course of the railway construction works in 1855, the column had to be moved and has since stood at a crossroads in front of the Kremerstadl.
