Museum of Tyrolean Farmhouses in Kramsach
Tyrol’s largest open-air museum is situated near Lake Reintal in Kramsach. An air of nostalgia hangs over the old farms and their interesting pasts.
I feel myself transported to the „Tyrol of old“ and go about discovering these witnesses of a culture of the past. On site there are many outbuildings such as a sawmill, flour mill, blacksmiths, threshing floor or the two chapels. All these buildings were dismantled with great care and rebuilt on site.
Particularly charming is the old school bringing back days long forgotten. The whole museum is brought to life by the animals and colourful farmers gardens.
A varied programme of events, exhibitions and guided museum tours bring life in „the Tyrol of old“ closer".
