The Klamm-Express takes you comfortably from the Wittberg car park to the gorge entrance. The shuttle is free for visitors and locals alike and also helps to significantly ease traffic congestion on the road towards Brandenberg. 

At the Wittberg car park, you can park your car for free and hop on the Klamm-Express without any hassle. This way, your trip to the Tiefenbach gorge gets off to a completely stress-free start

Why does the Klamm-Express exist?

The Tiefenbach Gorge is one of the most popular nature destinations in the Alpbachtal. On particularly fine days, there can be heavy traffic around the gorge entrance and along the route towards Brandenberg. 

The Klamm-Express helps to ease the traffic situation. At the same time, it offers greater convenience to visitors and locals alike: you can park for free, make a hassle-free transfer and reach the gorge without having to spend ages looking for a parking space.

Is the Klamm-Express free of charge?

Yes. The Klamm-Express service from the Wittberg car park to the entrance of the Tiefenbachklamm gorge and back is free of charge. 

Where can I park for free?

You can park for free at the Wittberg car park. From there, the Klamm-Express takes you to the gorge entrance. 

When does the Klamm-Express run?

In July, the Klamm-Express runs from Friday to Sunday. From 1 August to 6 September, it operates daily. It runs from 09:00 to 18:00 each day

If you’re unable to make it in time, you can also take the public bus at 18:27 and 20:56 to the Wittberg car park. This is free of charge on presentation of the Alpbachtal Card. 

How often does the Klamm-Express run?

The Klamm-Express runs three times an hour. 

Can I still park at the Gorge entrance?

Yes, this is still possible. However, parking spaces at the entrance to the gorge are limited and subject to a charge. 

PLEASE NOTE: You must not park behind the yellow line; otherwise, you will be liable for a fine. 

How much does it cost to park at the entrance to the gorge?

The following parking charges apply at the entrance to the gorge: €3 for 3 hours, €5 for a day ticket and €15 for a day ticket when the shuttle bus service is operating

Alpbachtal Klamm-Express timetable

The Klamm-Express runs regularly between the Wittberg car park and the entrance to the Tiefenbach Gorge. 

Operating hours:

  • In July: Friday to Sunday
  • From 1 August to 6 September: daily service 
  • Time: 09:00 - 18:00
  • Frequency: 3 times per hour
  • Cost: free

This makes the shuttle particularly suitable for families, walkers and anyone who wants to plan their trip comfortably and efficiently. It is also possible to leave the gorge by public bus after 18:00. This journey is free with the Alpbachtal Card. Buses depart at 18:27 and 20:56 to the Wittberg car park.

Parking at the Tiefenbach Gorge

Wittberg car park: Free parking and a direct connection

The Wittberg car park is the recommended starting point for your visit to the Tiefenbach Gorge. You can leave your car there for free and board the Klamm-Express straight away. 

This offers you several advantages:

  • free parking at the Wittberg car park
  • a free shuttle to the gorge entrance
  • no need to hunt for a parking space right by the gorge
  • a more relaxed start to your day out

Switching to the shuttle is particularly worthwhile on busy days. 

Parking right by the gorge entrance

You can still park right by the entrynce to the Tiefenbach Gorge. Please note, however, that there are only a limited number of parking spaces available there. 

Parking fees at the gorge entrance:

  • €3,- for 3 hours
  • €5,- for a day's parking ticket
    (on days when the shuttle is not running)
  • €15,- for a day's parking ticket
    (on days when the shuttle is operating)
