Mountain Advent Alpbachtal

On 20 December 2026, the Alpbachtal Mountain Advent will take place around the Wiedersbergerhornbahn mountain station. From 4.00 pm to 9.00 pm, the area around the mountain station will be transformed into a fairytale-like Advent world, blanketed in deep snow, high above the valley. On the longest night of the year, at an altitude of 1,850 metres, a romantic winter atmosphere awaits you, featuring Tyrolean Advent music and a contemplative ambience for young and old alike – easily accessible via the Wiedersbergerhornbahn.

Amidst crackling fire pits and snow-capped peaks, brass bands, carol singers, a primary school class from Alpbach, alphorn players and a traditional folk music group will provide festive sounds at various locations. Another highlight is the glowing LED walking acts moving across the site, as well as the Alpbach Mountain Railways’ photo station, where you can take a souvenir photo and download it for free.

There’s plenty on offer to satisfy your appetite too: the "Alpbacher Bäurinnen", the Alpbach Mountain Rescue, the Ski Club Alpbach, the Alpbach Volunteer Fire Brigade and the "Alpbacher Krippenverein" all invite you to enjoy their offerings. In addition, other stalls showcase their craftsmanship, inviting you to browse. At the Gasthof Hornboden, you can take a break in cosy warmth, whilst mulled wine, punch and hot chocolate at various stalls ensure moments of pure enjoyment against the winter mountain backdrop.

No bustling market crowds, but a relaxing get-together in the Tyrolean winter wonderland.
