Summit Adventure: Wiedersberger Horn & Hochstand

Looking for a rewarding mountain hike with two summits and only a moderate ascent? This panoramic loop at the Wiedersberger Horn is the perfect choice.

The Wiedersbergerhorn Cable Car takes you comfortably to around 1,800 metres above sea level. From the top station, the panoramic trail leads to the popular photo spot “Gate to the Alpbachtal”. This historic wooden door frames the surrounding mountain scenery and offers a unique view of the peaks of the Alpbachtal region.

The trail then continues gently uphill to the summit of the Wiedersberger Horn (2,127 m). At the summit cross, breathtaking views of the Kitzbühel Alps and the Inn Valley await. Descend along the scenic southern ridge towards the Hornalm, where the next highlight awaits: the impressive wooden viewpoint “Top of Alpbachtal”, offering spectacular panoramic views.

Following the ridge, you reach the second summit, Hochstand (2.058 m). Its summit cross and wide-open views make this detour well worth the effort. Return to the Hornalm and follow the panoramic trail back to the mountain station.

Numerous benches along the route invite you to pause, relax and immerse yourself in nature. For refreshments, the Hornboden Mountain Inn and Dauerstoaalm are located directly at the top station. If you still have time, finish your day with a ride on the Lauser Sauser Alpine Coaster, also located at the mountain station.
