Distances to the Alpbachtal

The Alpbachtal holiday region is located in western Austria in the state of Tyrol. More precisely in the middle Lower Inn Valley (mittleres Unterinntal in Germa) between the state capital Innsbruck and the city Kufstein.

  • Munich - Alpbachtal: 120 km - 80 minutes
  • Vienna - Alpbachtal: 440 km - 4,5 hours
  • Berlin - Alpbachtal: 700 km - 6,5 hours
  • Bozen - Alpbachtal: 160 km - 2 hours
  • Verona - Alpbachtal: 300 km - 3 hours
  • Zürich - Alpbachtal: 330 km - 3,5 hours

The fastest way to reach the Alpbachtal region is via the Inn Valley motorway A12 (toll road). Take the motorway to the exit Kramsach. You must display a vignette on the inside of the windshield of your vehicle as you enter Austria.

Vignette requirement in Austria

You need a vignette to drive on Austria’s motorways and expressways, including when travelling via the A12 Inntal Motorway. You must purchase the vignette before setting off on a route where it is compulsory, even if you are only passing through Austria for a few hours. For short journeys, there is the 1-day vignette; for holidays, there are the 10-day, 2-month or annual vignettes.

You can find all the information and prices here
From 1 December 2026: digital vignettes only

From 1 December 2026, the vignette will only be available in digital form. The sticker vignette will no longer be sold from that date. If you still stick a 2026 vignette on your windscreen, it will remain valid until 31 January 2027.

The digital vignette is linked to your number plate. You no longer need a sticker.

Good to know

  • Where can you buy one?
Online at shop.asfinag.at or in person at petrol stations, tobacconists and motoring clubs. There are also vending machines at many border crossings.
  • Buy in good time:
1-day and 10-day vignettes are valid immediately. If you buy a 2-month or annual vignette online, it only becomes valid after 18 days due to the statutory cooling-off period. If you buy it from a physical sales outlet, it is valid immediately.
  • Check your number plate carefully:
A typing error renders the vignette invalid; there is no goodwill policy. The easiest way is to have a photo of your number plate or your vehicle registration certificate to hand.
  • Buy only from official sources:
Purchase exclusively from the ASFINAG shop or authorised sales outlets (asfinag.at/en/toll/sales-outlets). Unofficial sellers often charge more, and some vignettes are even invalid.
  • Check validity:
Go to evidenz.asfinag.at and enter your number plate to check whether your vignette is valid.
