Relaxed stroll through Alpbach past picture postcard wood clad houses
The pretty route through Alpbach leads through the Trat, Bischofen and Außerland areas. It soon becomes clear why Alpbach was awarded the title "Austria's most beautiful village". The beautiful old farmhouses and wood clad buildings with their balconies, uniform windows and roof pitches never fail to charm visitors.
Take a look above! Gratlspitze towers over Alpbach and is one of the popular hikes starting from the village.
Erbhöfe (inherited farms)
Among the municipalities of Tyrol, Alpbach ranks among the prominent ones with over 20 farms passed from father to son. Most of the farms in Alpbach have been in the same family for over 300 years (to carry the title "Erbhof" these farms must be in one and the same family for a minimum of 200 years). Discover some of these beautiful farms along the route!
Starting from the Hotel zur Post turn right after approx. 50 m and walk up to Trat - cross the bridge in the curve and walk along the forest track to the Alsten farms - Innerbischofen - Bischofen - turn left and head downhill past the Aussermooser farm back to the village centre.
