KulTour - Ancient crafts in Alpbach
What was Alpbach like in the past – and what makes the village so special today? On this circular hike, you will step by step immerse yourself in the history of the place and get to know Alpbach from a new perspective.
The hike starts in the village center. From there, the trail continues over the Neada to Inneralpbach. Along the way, exciting insights into the development of the village unfold – from the traditional life of past times to today’s Alpbach with its distinctive character.
On the way back, the trail leads over the middle elevation path to the Weikart Mill. There, guests can expect a tour with a clear explanation of the milling process. This vividly demonstrates how work was done and flour was produced in earlier times.
Afterwards, another special place is on the program: the Brechlstube, a former building for drying flax. Here, too, a piece of everyday and economic history of Alpbach becomes tangible.
This circular hike combines nature, movement, and lived history – ideal for everyone who wants to not just see Alpbach, but truly understand it.
