Guided Tour through the Museum of Tyrolean Farmhouses

A new event format lets the open-air museum in Kramsach shine in festive splendor. Theater, music, and atmospheric lights transform the historical farms into a stage for reflection.

Kramsach – The Museum of Tyrolean Farms invites you to a special Advent event starting on the 1st Advent Sunday. “Light. Sound. Advent.” is a guided hike through history. At eight stations, visitors will encounter theater, music, and old tales. Each station opens a different door into the world of Christmas traditions in Tyrol.

The route leads from the Portnerhof as a meeting point to the Südtirolerhof, through a wooded area with glowing pathways to the historical buildings, where scenes like “The Forest Schnaggl,” “The Shepherds in the Field,” or “The Cattle Speak” come alive. In between, brass players are heard, lights shimmer, and the scent of wood and resin adds a special atmosphere to the tour.

The new event is organized by the Theater Association Bruck am Ziller under the artistic direction of Claudia Brandacher, who also acts as a museum guide. This merges acting and education into a common experience that makes the essence of Advent – contemplation, wonder, community – newly tangible. After the hike, the evening concludes with mulled wine, brass sounds, and regional culinary delights at Rohrerhof. The hikes start every 30 minutes from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM on November 30 and on December 13 and 14.
