Mountain Advent in Alpbachtal

On December 21, 2025, the BERGADVENT ALPBACHTAL will take place for the first time between the mountain station of the Wiedersbergerhornbahn and the Gasthof Hornboden. From 5:30 PM to 9:00 PM, the area at the mountain station will transform into a deeply snow-covered, fairy-tale Advent world high above the valley. In the longest night of the year, you can expect a romantic winter atmosphere at an altitude of 1,850 meters with Tyrolean Advent music and a contemplative mood for young and old – easily accessible by the Wiedersbergerhornbahn.

Amidst crackling fire pits and snowy peaks, performance groups such as brass players, carolers, a primary school class from Alpbach, the theater association, and a traditional music group will provide festive sounds at various locations. Another highlight will be the luminous LED walking acts moving across the area, as well as the photo station of the Alpbach cable cars, where you can take and download a souvenir photo for free.

Delicious food will also be well taken care of: Cheese dumplings from the Ski Club Alpbach, fresh Kiachln from local women, and warm dishes from the mountain rescue service invite you to indulge. The Kolberhof complements the offer with regional specialties like bacon, cheese, and grilled sausages, while other stalls invite you to browse their handcrafted goods. The Gasthof Hornboden offers a cozy retreat in warm surroundings, while mulled wine, punch, and hot chocolate at various stalls create enjoyable moments in the wintry mountain scenery.

For the little guests, there will be a crafting station in the warm area of the mountain station, where they can get creative and make small souvenirs.

Not a big market hustle, but a contemplative gathering in the Tyrolean winter wonderland – warm-hearted, atmospheric, and authentic. And who knows, perhaps you really are a little bit closer to the Christkind up here.
