The Alpbachtal is one of Austria's "Genussregionen" (culinary region) and boasts a landscape rich in contrasts. One of the main villages and namesake for the region is Alpbach, "Austria's most beautiful village". Reith im Alpbachtal, which is known for its floral displays and characteristic village centre, is a veritable family paradise in summer and winter. Kramsach, situated on the north bank of the Inn, is often called the "Tyrol's bathtub" because of its idyllic lakes. The richly forested Brandenberg is home to breathtaking gorges and ravines and terrific hiking trails.
