Kundler Tor with "Mundloch"

Part of the town wall, which was a prerequisite for the town's elevation in 1393.

In principle, a town wall was only necessary on one side (towards Radfeld / Kundl). The town layout was triangular and secured by the castle complex on one side and by the River Inn on the other side. The original archway was demolished between 1809 and 1814 and subsequently replaced by the current one. The Kundl Arch forms the border of the municipalities of Radfeld and Rattenberg.

The "Mundloch" near the Kundler Tor was the entrance to one of the copper mining tunnels. Today the entrance is gated for protection.
