This ultra trail starts in the heart of Rattenberg, Austria’s smallest town. The route first follows the shady edge of the forest towards Maukenbach before the first longer climb leads via Sulueg and Distelberg towards Holzalm. From there, the trail descends to Thierbach before continuing on runnable forest roads to the Gernalm reservoir. A ridge section leads up to Schatzberg, followed by the trail towards Hösljoch and down to Hausberg near Alpbach. The legs are tested once more on the steep northern ascent to the panoramic Gratlspitze. From the summit, the route descends back to Holzalm and continues via Schwarzenberg and Grafenried onto the Radfeld High Trail. A pleasant downhill section leads towards Rattenberg, with one final short climb over Hauskogel. From Wiesl, the trail descends directly back into the historic old town. With 45 km and 2,600 m of ascent, this is a challenging route for experienced endurance trail runners.
