Wiedersberger Horn - Inneralpbach
Skitour up the Greiter Valley and up via Alpine huts to the "Hornbahn 2000" ski lift top station.
Walking time : approx. 3 h – 1.000m elevation up to the "Hornbahn 2000" ski lift top station.
From the Galtenberg draglift follow the ski route 66 up the valley; you will reach two wooden houses at a ditch (approx. 2 km); continue a short stretch up the valley and then turn right onto a forest track (or take several shortcuts) to the Moserbaumgartenalm. Bear right at the hut and walk up through the woods to your right until you reach a hut. Walk straight uphill and along the ridge to your left to the piste (ski route). Follow the ski route to the "Hornbahn 2000" ski lift top station and the Hornalm.
Descent: same as ascent or down the regular ski pistes to Inneralpbach. This tour is well suited for less experienced ski tourers as they can use the regular pistes to ski down to the valley, but please bear in mind that the 1.000m uphill demand a certain degree of fitness! Please note: the tour description is to the chair lift top station only! The climb from the top station to the Wiedersbergerhorn peak is only advisable for experienced ski tourers (exposed) and is subject to avalanche warnings.
Author’s recommendation
Since one can use the regular ski piste for the descent the tour is also suitable for the less experienced ski touring skiers; not to be underestimated are the 1.000 m elevation gain for the walk up!
Safety guidelines
When skiing off-piste please observe the daily avalanche report.
