The hospitality sector (gastronomy, hotels and accommodation) are open - under certain conditions.
The so-called "2-G rule" applies to all areas (2-G rule: geimpft = vaccinated & genesen = recovered) as well as for access to leisure facilities and events.Access is possible for vaccinated and recovered persons (up to max. 6 months after a covid infection). A person is considered to have been vaccinated if he or she has been fully immunised - the certificate is issued on the day of the second vaccination.
From 11th January 2022, in addition to the previous FFP2 mask requirement, an FFP2 mask requirement will also apply outdoors - if the 2-metre distance between persons cannot be adhered to (e.g.: queues, group activities, etc.).

2G: persons who have recovered from COVID-19 or fully vaccinated persons
A person is considered fully vaccinated as soon as he or she has received the second vaccination. There must be at least 14 days between the two vaccinations, then the proof is valid for 270 days. Vaccines that provide only one dose of vaccine are valid for 270 days from the 22nd day after inoculation.
A certificate stating binding antibody units is not valid as a 2G certificate!
Everyone can help fight the Corona virus. Keep contact with others to a minimum wherever possible and limit yourself to the same group of people. This is the only way to avoid infection.
The FFP2 mask is mandatory for children 14 years and older. Children between the age 7 to 14 are not required to wear an FFP2 mask, but must wear a mouth-nose-protection mask. Children up to 6 years of age are completely exempt from any mask requirement.
For the winter season 2021/22, the Federal Ministry for Agriculture, Regions and Tourism together with the Austrian Federal Economic Chamber launched the initiative Holiday-Ninja-Pass, based on the Austrian school Ninja-Pass (COVID-19 school regulation 2021/22 Corona tests pass). The Holiday Ninja Pass is an exemption to 2G proof or 2G+ status for unvaccinated or under-vaccinated school-aged youth (from 12 to 15 years old) from Austria and abroad.

Entry into Austria is possible for all persons with a valid proof of 2G. In addition, a valid negative PCR test result (max. 72 hours old) must also be presented, provided that a booster vaccination cannot yet be administered. If neither a negative PCR test nor a booster vaccination is presented, entry is still possible, but an immediate self isolation has to be started, which is terminated after presentation of a negative PCR test. Children of school age, regardless of citizenship (Ninja passport or equivalent), and children under 12 years of age are exempt from the 2G-Plus requirement upon entry.
