Enjoy a walk through one of Austria's most beautiful and impressive gorges!
The Tiefenbach Gorge is a highlight for kayaking enthusiasts (only suitable for very experienced kayakers!) as well as for hikers.
The Tiefenbach Gorge between Kramsach and Brandenberg can be depicted as "a unique beauty of nature".
Hikers can walk along the Triftsteig trail for approx. 1,5 hours and have a break at the Jausenstation Tiefenbachklamm directly at the end of the gorge or, after a further 30-40 minutes, at the Jausenstation Stegerstall (please check the opening hours of the Jausenstation Tiefenbachklamm and the Jausenstation Stegerstall beforehand).
Afterwards you can either take the same route back or walk uphill to Brandenberg (another 30 - 40 minutes) and take the bus from there.
Top highlight: The new viewing platform at the most spectacular point of the gorge!
Requirements: sturdy shoes, surefootedness and a head for heights. Climbing belts with safety leashes for small children are available at the Jausenstation Tiefenbachklamm or at Sport Ossi in Kramsach (next to the Sonnwendjochbahn). Both the Jausenstation Tiefenbachklamm as well as Sport Ossi charge €20,00 for these safety belts (which you get back as soon as you have returned the safety belt).
Due to safety reasons the gorges are closed between November and April and on days with heavy rain!!!
