1050th Anniversary Celebrations

1050 years of history, living tradition, and strong community – it's worth celebrating! On August 15, 2026, the municipality of Reith im Alpbachtal warmly invites locals and guests to the grand anniversary celebration. Together, we will look back at the long history of the place and simultaneously celebrate the lively village life.

The festive day begins at 4:00 p.m. at the village square with a festive church service for Assumption of Mary and the anniversary. Following this, the official celebration with speeches and community honors will take place. Concurrently, families will find a large children's program at the sports field featuring a children's olympics, bouncy castle, face painting, fire brigade obstacle course, archery, and a climbing wall. In case of bad weather, the children's program will be moved to the gymnasium.

Starting at 5:30 p.m., the Chronicle Exhibition will be opened at the middle school, offering exciting insights into the history of Reith. From 6:00 p.m., the federal music bands Reith and Alpbach will provide festive ambiance with a concert in the square. Dance performances by D'Reitherkogler as well as the live bands Foitn-Rock and Schiaßbichi Buam will make the anniversary day a cheerful conclusion. Those who want to enjoy the evening in a relaxed manner will find the wine gazebo in the Hildegard garden to be the perfect spot.

Culinary delights are also well taken care of: the Reith associations will pamper the visitors with regional specialties. The proceeds from the festival will go toward social and charitable projects of the community. In case of bad weather, the festival will be moved to the parish church or the large gymnasium. Parking is available at the lift parking lot.
