KulTour Grünangerl Path of Contemplation - Münster
Walk through and around Münster village including the route through the woods to the Grünangerl chapel
From the old village fountain opposite the church in Münster village centre, take the R2 to the Grünangerl chapel. After a visit to the chapel walk back approx. 150 m and turn right onto the R1 to the Hauserwirt.
Walking on the pavement back towards the village centre past the "Berghof" ( a listed building) and after approx. 200 m at "SAS-Hausmeisterservice" cross the road. Continue via Hof – Hofer chapel back to the fountain.
Author’s recommendation
The path to the Grünangerl chapel is lined with highly unusual reliefs illustrating the Stations of the Cross (a traditional devotion depicting Jesus' journey from trial to tomb). The large granite stones were made by the local artist, Hartwig Unterberger. He portrays our modern day hardships in striking modern images. The appropriate bible verse is mounted next to each station.
