By car via Aschau (Brandenberg), past the Wimm farm to the barrier to the Aschau-Wimm car park in Brandenberg. From the car park, walk towards the Eilalm and Anderl´s Almhütte and the Lageggalm via Kreuzein Hochleger. Continue along the Rosskogel Saddle, a short stretch downhill through the Rosswies to the lake. Take the same route back.

Author’s recommendation
Lake Zirein is a natural gem in the rugged Rofan Range. Depending on the weather, the lake changes colour. According to legend, the water contains gold: if cows & sheep that drank from it their teeth would turn to gold.
Directions
From the car park, walk towards the Eilalm and Anderl´s Almhütte and the Lageggalm via Kreuzein Hochleger. Continue along the Rosskogel Saddle, a short stretch downhill through the Rosswies to the lake. Take the same route back.
