The hike begins at the Jausentation Oberthaler in the picturesque village of Alpbach, following gentle meadow paths up to the Pechalm – a first taste of the classic Tyrolean alpine landscape. The route continues to the Riedalm, where a well-earned rest awaits: cured bacon boards, cheese platters and homemade cakes make for an authentic mountain hut experience. The ascent to the Riedalm takes around 1.5 hours.
The return journey leads along the beautiful Alpenrosen Trail to the Schatzberg – lined, depending on the season, with the vivid blooms of alpine roses. From there, the path continues to the Zottaalm before winding back to the starting point.
The tour impresses with wonderfully varied scenery: sweeping alpine meadows, shaded forest passages and breathtaking views of the Kitzbühel Alps. The rich and diverse alpine flora along the entire route is a highlight in its own right. A thoroughly enjoyable circular hike for families and hiking enthusiasts alike, combining nature, regional cuisine and the authentic charm of Tyrolean alpine culture.
